Christian Songs for Kids - Dare to Be a Daniel

Some time ago I talked about not being able to find many powerpoint presentations to illustrate Christian Songs for Kids.

I had got to the point where I was making my own to use in our Church, Sunday School and an After School Bible Club our church ran in a nearby primary school each Monday.

NOW

I am going to share songs with you providing a

Visual
(Powerpoint or Picture or details of how you can make it)

Words
(chords also available)

Recording / Video
(to learn the song)

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

Also don't forget you can go to the side bar on the right and sign up for an email reminder of my posts. Then you will know when the next song is posted.

Today we are on the Theme of

 Bible Characters

The song I have chosen is

Dare to Be a Daniel

This is a very short song based on the qualities of the Old Testament character Daniel.

Our children grew up singing it and now our grandchildren are enjoying this song too especially since their daddy was named after this person.

POWERPOINT

I made this presentation for projecting the words.

or

for printing out individual cards

ACTIONS

Dare to be a Daniel  -
Place hands in front with palms together to show prayer

Dare to stand alone  -  Stand to attention with arms straight down at your side

Dare to have a purpose firm  -  Point up with one hand

And Dare to make it known  -  Marching on the spot

RECORDING

Special "Thank You" to my husband Fred who looks after the Recordings and Chords

Notes:

The words and music for this were written by P.P. Bliss

The chorus we sang for so many years is apparently simply the chorus to a song P.P. Bliss wrote which had 4 verses and was named after the first line of the song - "Standing by a Purpose True"

You can find out more about it at  Hymnary.org

Why not Pin this for future use:-

I Hope you enjoy the song and this is a help to you.

Christian Songs For Kids - I Can Do all Things

Do you find it hard to get visuals and recordings for different kids songs?

I have always found this a problem so I am now sharing songs that I have used with children providing you with

Recording
(mp3 or video to learn the song)

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

This month I am taking the theme of

SCRIPTURE  VERSES

The song I have chosen is

I Can Do All Things
(Philippians 4:13)

I was planning to teach this Bible verse to the children in church one Sunday at the start of the service where we have a little spot for them but everyone in the congregation gets to join in to listen and sing with them and sometimes I think the congregation have as much fun as the kids.

Thinking of how to teach the verse I was trying out how it sounded saying it out loud in sections and I found I
kept wanting to repeat the words "All Things"

So that lead me to putting it to a little tune.

It also lead me to thinking of a way for them to do simple actions for the song and then the next thing was a Powerpoint visual.

POWERPOINT

When we sing the 3rd reference Philippians 4 13  we draw out the 4 13 a little at the end.

Words
(chords also available)

Recording
(mp3 or video to learn the song)

Also don't forget you can go to the top of this post or to the sidebar on the right and sign up for an email reminder of my posts.

Then you will know when the next song is posted.

This month I am taking the theme of

Forgiveness of Sins

The song I have chosen is

Rolled Away

This is one of the most enjoyable choruses for the kids to interact in as they love to do the actions and sing it faster each time trying to keep up with the actions and not get mixed up.

When they are enjoying it they are still picking up the concept behind it and it is also the type of tune that just sticks in their heads.

I have been using this song for over 30 years and all the children over all those years have had fun with this song.

POWERPOINT

More recently I made slides and pictures to print out for this song

Here is a powerpoint show with music from Hebron Outreach so have a look at it and if you go to their website you can copy it freely.

WORDS

Rolled Away,
Rolled Away, Rolled Away,
And the Burden of my heart Rolled Away,
Rolled Away, Rolled Away, Rolled Away,
And the Burden of my heart Rolled Away,
Every sin had to go
'Neath the cleansing flow, Hallelujah
Rolled Away, Rolled Away, Rolled Away,
And the Burden of my heart Rolled Away.

ACTIONS

And the burden  -  rest both hands on your shoulder
Of my heart  -  move both hands to your heart
Rolled away  -  roll your hands around each other and flick them over your shoulder
Every sin had to go   -  repeated flicking of hands over shoulder
Neath the cleansing flow  -  raise hands and ripple fingers as you bring your hands down in front of you
Hallelujah  -  nothing
Rolled away   -  roll your hands around each other and flick them over your shoulder  x3
And the burden  -  rest both hands on your shoulder
Of my heart  -  move both hands to your heart

Christian Songs for Kids - Good News, Good News

Do you find it hard to get visuals and recordings for different kids songs?

Visuals

Recording

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

This month I am taking the theme of

SALVATION

The song I have chosen is

Good News

Another one that I learnt when I was a teenager and started to help with

This is a short but very to the point song about how salvation is the "Good News" for us.
In a few lines the gospel is presented and the song is so easy to memorize that children very soon have those words etched in their memories telling then that Jesus has died for them.

Of course they all love it when you get to the end and you shout out the word EXTRA.

VISUAL

I have the original fold over card visual which I bought from CEF many years ago and it is still used often in our kid's club in a local school.

Unfortunately I can not find it for sale on the UK CEF website now but a new version with a second verse is available on the US CEF site

More recently I made a powerpoint for projection

To Download a copy of this powerpoint for printing on  A4 card  or  Letter size

WORDS

GOOD NEWS

Good News, Good News,

Christ died for me.
Good News, Good News,
If I believe.
Good News, Good News,
I'm saved eternally.
That's wonderful, EXTRA
Good News

ACTIONS

Very simple for this song.

For the first section of the song we clap
(up to eternally)
Then we cup our hands over our mouth to be able to shout the word
EXTRA in the second part

RECORDING

For this song we have a sound recording and a video both shown below

Notes:
I believe the Words are by O.G. Lewis and the song is in the public domain
but there is also a second verse which is under the copyright of CEF
More information can be found HERE

I Hope you enjoy the song and this is a help to you.

The Promises of God

The song I have chosen is

No Never Alone

This is another song that is so very simple but so full of the truth and tells of the comfort God
promised us.

I like to use this song when teaching on Joshua as it ties is well with Joshua 1 v 9 and can be used to to reinforce that as a Memory Verse.

It is also one I would use when teaching on How much God cares for us or not being afraid because God will never leave us.

This is actually the chorus of a hymn and is based on
Matthew 28:20 and Hebrews 13:5

I believe the Words are the chorus of a hymn whose first verse begins with
"I've seen the lightning flashing"
Author is  Ludie D. Pickett.
