10 Bible Verses of Encouragement about EASTER - plus Free Printable

We all need encouragement and the best place to go is to the Bible.

In this blog Post I have tried to gather some Bible passages or Bible verses which will encourage us all around the topic of Easter.

I do believe that we should not just grab a verse and read it on its own but we should always lift our bibles and read a passage of scripture to make sure that we know the real meaning and context of each of the verses we are putting our trust in.

I pray that you will do the same and only use this list to guide you as to where you may find help.

So here are 10 Bible verses or short passages for us to turn to in times when we need to be encouraged about Easter

1.   Matthew 28 v 6

He wasn't there,  He had risen from the dead just as He had said He would.

It is still the same today

He has risen as He said He would but although He is not physically here on earth He is still with us.

When we think of Easter many first think of the empty tomb but we also need to remember the cross had to come before the empty tomb could be celebrated.

2.   Galatians 6 v 14

Let's go back to before the empty tomb to the cross which paved the way to make such a difference in our lives.

3.   Philippians 2 v 8

The humility and obedience of our Saviour is life to us.

4.   1 Peter 2 v 24

Jesus although He was the sinless one the Son of God took on our sins

The righteousness we have as children of God is not our own it is the righteousness of Jesus.

5.   John 19 v 28-30

The death on the cross

28  After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!”

29  Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.

30  So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

He did all that was needed for us.

6.   Romans 6 v 8-11

Death and life are so different for us when we are in Christ because through the cross He has the power over death and not the other way round.

7.   Romans 5 v 8

Easter - the cross and resurrection are the signs for us that God loves us

and did so before we had come to Him through Salvation.

8.   John 11 v 25-26

Yes before the crucifixion Jesus even told Martha in Bethany that He was the resurrection and the life - it was in the plan for us all along

and a great promise to us to know we will have life because of Christ.

9.   Romans 10 v 9 -13

What a Bible passage this is to encourage us about salvation

9  that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
12  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
13  For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

and to remind us that the cross and the resurrection are at the centre of our faith.

To finish after that great reminder we now have a great question:

10.   1 Corinthians 1 v 18

Two views of the cross  -  which do you take?

The cross truly shows the power of God.

10 Bible Verses of Encouragement about Love

We all need encouragement and the best place to go is to the Bible.

In this blog post I have tried to gather some Bible passages or Bible verses which will encourage us all around the topic of God's Love.

I do believe that we should not just grab a verse and read it on its own but we should always lift our bibles and read a passage of scripture to make sure that we know the real meaning and context of each of the verses we are putting our trust in.

I pray that you will do the same and only use this list to guide you as to where you may find help.

So here are 10 Bible verses or short passages for us to turn to in times when we need to be encouraged about Love

1.   Zephaniah 3 v 17

Perhaps this is the first thing we need to let God do

-  quiet us with His love

Calmness.

2.   Deuteronomy 6 v 5

God instructed His people about loving HIM from the beginning.

And God has not changed so His Word to us does not change.

3.   Leviticus 19 v 18

God also instructed His people about loving OTHERS from the beginning

"You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord."

Yes it's not just a command in the New Testament.

4.   John 13 v 34

God's love may be for us but we have to remember that God does not expect us just to receive His love and keep it to ourselves.

God loves us because He is Love but He also loves us so that we can love others and in fact it is a command.

5.   John 3 v 16

Always considered a verse about Salvation but it is also one of the best verses to show us this great love of God

the Love that caused everything else to be and gave us the only way to become His children

6.   1 John 4 v 18

The only perfect love is the love of God and fear cannot exist where that perfect love is.

7.   1 Chronicles 16 v 34

What have we got the example of from way back in the Old Testament?

To give thanks to God for His goodness which is the result of His everlasting Love.

8.   Proverbs 10 v 12

There is always wisdom to be learned in the book of Proverbs.

The Love of God led to the death of Jesus for our sins against the hate the enemy has towards God and us.

Let us remember that we can show God's Love instead of hate to all people.

9.   Psalm 36 v 7

It is important that we realise, understand, acknowledge, and be thankful for His great love - it will help us to trust in Him more.

10.   1 Corinthians 16 v 14

What better way to finish than by remembering this admonition by the Apostle Paul at the end of his first letter to the Church at Corinth.

10 Bible Verses of Encouragement about Forgiveness

We all need encouragement and the best place to go is to the Bible.

In this blog Post I have tried to gather some Bible passages or Bible verses which will encourage us all around the topic of Forgiveness.

I do believe that we should not just grab a verse and read it on its own but we should always lift our bibles and read a passage of scripture to make sure that we know the real meaning and context of each of the verses we are putting our trust in.

I pray that you will do the same and only use this list to guide you as to where you may find help.

So here are 10 Bible verses or short passages for us to turn to in times when we are concerned about forgiveness.

1.   1 John 1 v 9

Starting at the beginning with what we need to be sure of - the fact that He is the one who is willing to forgive our sins

and

cleanse us from them

but

we also have a part to play - we must confess our sins.

2.   Daniel 9 v 9

Daniel did not have the benefit of the New Testament and the narrative of Jesus about His Father but yet he still knew what a forgiving God we have, regardless of how sinful we are.

"To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him."

3.   Isaiah 1 v 18

“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.

God is so gracious to explain to us that even though we are so sinful compared to our Holy God He still has made a way for us to be changed.

4.   Isaiah 43 v 25

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions

 for My own sake;

And I will not remember your sins.

We cannot get rid of our sin but God will.

Then he actually comforts us by telling us He will not remember them - in other words He will not hold them against us afterwards.

5.   Psalm 103 v 10-14

10.  He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

We do not get what we deserve

11.  For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

God's mercy is greater than we can even imagine

12.  As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

There is no getting these sins back because of His forgiveness

13.  As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

Fear (awe) of God brings our the tender mercy of our God

14.  For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.

God made us so no-one can know us better than He can

Are we deserving of any of this forgiveness?

No but God gave Jesus in our place so that He can forgive us when we turn to Him.

6.   Ephesians 1 v 7

In our previous verse we saw the effect of God's mercy on our forgiveness now we see His grace.

7.   Acts 10 v 43

It's not a complicated process to apply for the forgiveness of God, we simply have to believe

this is where faith comes into the process.

8.   Isaiah 53 v 5-6

We have seen the mercy and the grace of God to bring about our forgiveness.

Then we saw the faith we need to have and now we see the hope we have in this Saviour

but none of this is to be taken lightly because our Saviour took such a heavy burden that belonged to us.

9.   Matthew 6 v 14-15

Forgiveness is not just something that God does for us.

We must remember that once we have faith in God and become new creations we have the responsibility of taking on the commands of God and so we need to love others as He does and be ready to forgive them.

It should be an outworking of the Spirit of God working in and through us.

We finish with a reminder from the Apostle Paul

10.   Colossians 3 v 13

bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

The most important thing to remember is we must give forgiveness because we have first received forgiveness from the Lord.
