10 Bible Verses of Encouragement on Reading The Bible - Plus Free Printable

We all need encouragement and the best place to go is to the Bible.

In this blog Post I have tried to gather some Bible passages or Bible verses which will encourage us all around the topic of Reading the Bible

I do believe that we should not just grab a verse and read it on its own but we should always lift our bibles and read a passage of scripture to make sure that we know the real meaning and context of each of the verses we are putting our trust in.

I pray that you will do the same and only use this list to guide you as to where you may find help.

So here are 10 Bible verses or short passages for us to turn to in times when we need to be encouraged about

  READING the BIBLE

1.   Psalm 119 v 18

This verse (a prayer in itself) will encourage us that the first way we should come to read God's Word is Prayerfully.

"Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law."

2.   2 Timothy 2 v 15

Here we are reminded to always read each verse of the Bible in the true Context.

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God,
a worker who does not need to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth."

It is very important to earnestly want to read the Bible Daily.

verse 2

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in His law doth he meditate day & night."

4.   Hebrews 4 v 12

When we read God's Word we should come expecting to receive from it.

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any
two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit,
and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart."

5.   Hebrews 11 v 6

We must come to read the Bible believing by faith

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those
who diligently seek Him."

6.   James 1 v 21

Our state of mind and speech and action must be right to understand and be changed by God's Word

"Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able
to save your souls."

7.   James 1 v 22

We must be obedient to God in our actions from what we have read in The Bible.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves."

8.   Joshua 1 v 8

Reading God's Word, learning it and obeying it will be good for us throughout our life.

I am not a fan of QUOTES

as more important than the Word of God

I actually wrote a blog post about Do We Really Need This Quote?

I'm taking a theme of the Bible this month on my blog so hence the Quotes on the Bible - NOT quotes from the Bible.

I'm looking at serious quotes from people I would respect.

So in the list below I will quote

Not  Benny Hinn   but   J.C. Ryle

Not  Greg Locke   but   Charles Spurgeon

Not  Mark Driscoll   but   Dwight L. Moody

1.  Charles Spurgeon

"Visit many good books, but live in the Bible."

2.  J.C. Ryle
