Why We Worship 3

I am taking time each week to ask myself "Why we worship".

I am not presuming that there is one overall right answer.

Perhaps because we are all uniquely different people we may also believe we have uniquely different reasons for worshipping God.

I believe we will have some uniquely different ways of worshipping but there are many reasons why we worship that must be common to us all.

In this series I'm really focusing on the attributes of God at the moment with

          God is GREAT

                  God is WORTHY

and for today I'm taking the bible verse   1 John 4 v 8

How do we know that He is Love?

The Bible tells us He is Love as in the verse above.
Our pastors and leaders in church explain to us that He is Love
But most of all our personal relationship with Him cries out to us that He is Love.

We would not even be able to have this relationship with Him if He was not Love.

We would not have been given the only way of Salvation through Jesus if He was not Love.

We would never be able to get beyond our sinful nature if He was not Love.

I am thankful that God is Love and I have experienced His great Love for me.

Do you have this relationship where you can say without a doubt that

                                                     God is Love?

Each Sunday I will be doing a "Why We Worship" spot so why not drop in regularly and we can encourage each other.

  1. Lovely post! He is love and first love me and as you said without Him longing me I would not know Him or worship. He is an awesome God and I am sure that I do not worship Him enough...I worship Him for who He is...He deserves way more that I could ever express!

  5. Yes He is love and without His unconditional, all encompassing, non-exclusive love we could not have relationship with Him. He is great, He is worthy, He is love and I worship Him because I love Him because He so loved me He gave His only son Jesus, He gave that I might have life abundant and eternal

  10. The way I love to worship is through singing hymns. I just love those old songs. When I am 'down' and can't think of a song, I just listen to them being sung. Thank you for linking up over at WholeHearted Wednesdays.

    1. Hi Judith, I know what you mean. My husband is the worship leader in our church and we love to mix the old with the newer songs, so many great truths to learn in those words.

  11. I know God is love. If and when I stop and review my blessing I can see him working over the course of my life. Even when it feels like things have gone astray I remind myself that God has my best interests at heart and he will work 'even this' to his glory. Thank you for linking up to the Pintastic Pinteresting Party.

  12. Sometimes it's so easy to worship and my hearts sings out on its own. Other times I really need to make time and be purposeful to be able to worship. But the important thing is to do it, no matter the circumstances.

    1. Hi Joanna, nice to meet you, I have just hopped over and added you to my circles. What you say here is so true and after the why we worship I'm hoping to go on and consider more aspects of worship to cover this and other things.

  13. Why do we worship. It's an interesting question. And it has so many answers. I think we often worship because it is all we can do to express our love to God.
