I am taking time each week to ask myself
"Why we worship"
One of the things about God that we may find hard to understand is that God cannot be measured or defined.
Our minds are so finite that we can not really understand that there can possibly be something that is infinite.
Except if you are a Maths teacher as I was and then you have often had to talk about positive and negative numbers both going on to infinity.
infinite adjective
Isn't that marvellous to think about? God has no limits!
So God has no start or finish.
Do you ever ask God to help you appreciate how different He is to us?
Dear Sandra,
ReplyDeleteGod's infinite nature--so much higher and bigger than us. It is good to have some time of quiet reflection as we enter into worship. I'm visiting from Unite.
Blessings
Hi Carol, so true we just can't worship if our hearts are not ready
DeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement to ask God to show me, even more, how different He is...it is hard for my finite mind to grasp how infinite and how big He is....blessings...linked up behind you at Lyli's blog
Hi there Dolly, nice to meet you. Yes He is so different from us but can still love us.
Delete"God has no limits." That thought brings such comfort. I really am enjoying your "Why We Worship" series.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are sharing with TWW.
Blessings,
Beth
Hi again Beth, I'm enjoying it to and it so focuses my mind for going to worship each Sunday morning too.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Sandra... One of my favorite quotes is "You can't put God in a box." How true! He is much to big to comprehend-- which is a very good thing for us :-) Blessings to you, sister!
ReplyDeleteHi again Sharita, yes exactly, much too big.
DeleteYes, infinity is so hard to comprehend! To think of God as having no limits, while true, is so hard to imagine!
ReplyDeleteHi Chantel, thank goodness we can believe even where we can't imagine.
DeleteI love that about God...bigger than everything and makes the impossible possible. I am glad to meet you. I am coming over from Heart Reflected. Blessings! Love, Rachael @ Inking the Heart
ReplyDeleteHi Rachael, thanks for dropping in. I'm glad to meet you too, come back and join me for the rest of the series too.
DeleteHi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post. I didn't know that was the symbol for infinite :) I love how God is so great, we cannot define Him. Where we are limited to what we can do, we can lean into the One who has no limits :) Makes me smile.
So glad it makes you smile Anita and thanks for dropping in. Limited - no limits, so powerful.
DeleteI worship momentarily every day, b/c HE is the only One in the Universe, World, Heaven, etc., that can be healed, restored, and raised through and by Him. The other stuff can come and go, but HE will not and I can simply turn to Him and raise the worship.
ReplyDeleteHi Caryjo, isn't it a great experience?
DeleteGod is great! thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThank you Obi, I enjoyed it.
DeleteMindblowing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Essential Fridays.
Blessings

Yes indeed Mel, I agree.
DeleteWhat a great question, why we worship, and I love that you are asking it each week. I've been giving it some thought myself recently and appreciate your perspective. Thanks for sharing. Visiting today from Inspire Me Monday.
ReplyDeleteHi Natalie, thanks for dropping in from Inspire me monday. Keep coming back to follow the worship series as I know there are so many things we can delight in to worship Him so it will go on for quite a while.
DeleteOh, what a beautiful word that I forget to add when I think of my Lord and Savior! No end...no beginning..always! Thanks for linking up to Inspire Me Monday.
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, I enjoy the link up on mondays and thanks for the encouragement here now.
DeleteI love how God is inside and outside of time... how before anything was - He was!!! Stopping by from The Weekend Brew! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Karrilee, nice to meet you. I just hopped over and added you to my circles. It is great isn't it to even just try to imagine this infinite attribute. Thanks for dropping in from the Weekend Brew.
