I am taking time each week to ask myself "Why we worship".
I am not presuming that there is one overall right answer.
Perhaps because we are all uniquely different people we may also believe we have uniquely different reasons for worshipping God.
I believe we will have some uniquely different ways of worshipping but there are many reasons why we worship that must be common to us all.
In this series I'm really focusing on the attributes of God at the moment with
God is GREAT
God is WORTHY
and for today I'm taking the bible verse 1 John 4 v 8
How do we know that He is Love?
The Bible tells us He is Love as in the verse above.
Our pastors and leaders in church explain to us that He is Love
But most of all our personal relationship with Him cries out to us that He is Love.
We would not even be able to have this relationship with Him if He was not Love.
We would not have been given the only way of Salvation through Jesus if He was not Love.
We would never be able to get beyond our sinful nature if He was not Love.
I am thankful that God is Love and I have experienced His great Love for me.
Lovely post! He is love and first love me and as you said without Him longing me I would not know Him or worship. He is an awesome God and I am sure that I do not worship Him enough...I worship Him for who He is...He deserves way more that I could ever express!
ReplyDeleteYes Margaret, isn't it great that He loved us first. Nice to meet you and please come back and join us for more of this series.
DeleteVery nice post! I constantly work on my relation with God everyday and hope I can share his love with others!
ReplyDeleteHi Gina, keep encouraged to talk with Him each day and keep sharing, God Bless
DeleteLove is the theme God is working on my heart this coming season! Oh what a place to be able to say, good or bad, happy or sad....that we know that we know that God truly loves us! So glad seeing you at UNITE this Tuesday! Blessings, Jen
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, Love is so central to everything isn't it and Thank God for His Love.
DeleteLove that you are focusing on worship, such a critical part of our faith journey! Nice post!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the encouragement Nicki, sometimes I think people shy away from talking about worship but it is what we were made to do.
DeleteYes He is love and without His unconditional, all encompassing, non-exclusive love we could not have relationship with Him. He is great, He is worthy, He is love and I worship Him because I love Him because He so loved me He gave His only son Jesus, He gave that I might have life abundant and eternal
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, you say it so well, these are the things we need to acknowledge to Him that we recognize in Him too.
DeleteThis is beautiful.

Hi Beth, thanks for the encouragement
DeleteI'm looking forward to this series. Yes, we may worship differently, but we all worship because of God's love. And what a love it i! He is worthy of all worship.
ReplyDeleteHi again Pamela, I was just over on your blog and left a comment. It is nice to meet another like minded blogger. Thank you for the encouragement, I am enjoying this series a lot and am being surprised each Sunday in church as what I have just scheduled to post for this series is cropping up there too.
DeleteAmen! Awesome truth!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at Essential Fridays.
Blessings
Mel from Essential Thing Devotions
Hi again Mel, thanks for the encouragement.
DeleteThe way I love to worship is through singing hymns. I just love those old songs. When I am 'down' and can't think of a song, I just listen to them being sung. Thank you for linking up over at WholeHearted Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteHi Judith, I know what you mean. My husband is the worship leader in our church and we love to mix the old with the newer songs, so many great truths to learn in those words.
DeleteI know God is love. If and when I stop and review my blessing I can see him working over the course of my life. Even when it feels like things have gone astray I remind myself that God has my best interests at heart and he will work 'even this' to his glory. Thank you for linking up to the Pintastic Pinteresting Party.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping in Sara and yes He always has our best interests in mind because He sure knows us best. Enjoying linking up with the party.
DeleteSometimes it's so easy to worship and my hearts sings out on its own. Other times I really need to make time and be purposeful to be able to worship. But the important thing is to do it, no matter the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteHi Joanna, nice to meet you, I have just hopped over and added you to my circles. What you say here is so true and after the why we worship I'm hoping to go on and consider more aspects of worship to cover this and other things.
DeleteWhy do we worship. It's an interesting question. And it has so many answers. I think we often worship because it is all we can do to express our love to God.
