One Hand Up Hallelujah - Songs for Kids

Do you find it hard to get visuals and recordings for different kids songs?

I have always found this a problem so I am sharing songs on the blog that I have used with children and providing you with

Visuals
(Powerpoint or Picture or details of how you can make one)

Words
(chords also available)

Recording
(mp3 or video to learn the song)

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

There will also be links for PDF's Fred has created for the words and chords.

This month I am taking the theme of

EASTER

The song I have chosen is

One Hand Up Hallelujah

A not well-known Easter (Palm Sunday) Song for kids but they will want to challenge adults to see who can get the clapping timing correct.

It is one of the easiest songs ever to learn as my kids and grandkids can tell anyone and then they will tell you it was written by me.

VISUALS

The song is so short and repetitive with a simple easy tune that not much effort in the visual side is needed in fact I taught it to kids for many many years without any visual at all.

So my husband and I went straight to producing a video a couple of years ago while we were doing other videos.  Then when we played it to our youngest (3 year old) granddaughter she immediately said "that's your song Nanny".

However not everyone will use singalong videos for their kids at church etc. so I have taken some of the pics from the powerpoint we created for the video for you to use.

POWERPOINT

Christian Songs for Kids - Dare to Be a Daniel

Some time ago I talked about not being able to find many powerpoint presentations to illustrate Christian Songs for Kids.

I had got to the point where I was making my own to use in our Church, Sunday School and an After School Bible Club our church ran in a nearby primary school each Monday.

NOW

I am going to share songs with you providing a

Visual
(Powerpoint or Picture or details of how you can make it)

Words
(chords also available)

Recording / Video
(to learn the song)

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

Also don't forget you can go to the side bar on the right and sign up for an email reminder of my posts. Then you will know when the next song is posted.

Today we are on the Theme of

 Bible Characters

The song I have chosen is

Dare to Be a Daniel

This is a very short song based on the qualities of the Old Testament character Daniel.

Our children grew up singing it and now our grandchildren are enjoying this song too especially since their daddy was named after this person.

POWERPOINT

I made this presentation for projecting the words.

for printing out individual cards

ACTIONS

Dare to be a Daniel  -
Place hands in front with palms together to show prayer

Dare to stand alone  -  Stand to attention with arms straight down at your side

Dare to have a purpose firm  -  Point up with one hand

And Dare to make it known  -  Marching on the spot

RECORDING

Special "Thank You" to my husband Fred who looks after the Recordings and Chords

Notes:

The words and music for this were written by P.P. Bliss

The chorus we sang for so many years is apparently simply the chorus to a song P.P. Bliss wrote which had 4 verses and was named after the first line of the song - "Standing by a Purpose True"

You can find out more about it at  Hymnary.org

Why not Pin this for future use:-

I Hope you enjoy the song and this is a help to you.

Christian songs for Kids - Love One Another like Sister & Brother

Do you find it hard to get visuals and recordings for different kids songs?

I have always found this a problem so I am now sharing songs that I have used with children providing you with

Visuals
Powerpoint or Picture
or details of how you can make one

Words
Chords also available

Recording
mp3 or video to learn the song

Then if you would like to download the visual of the song there will be a link provided to my creation, or I will direct you to where else you can find it.

This month I am taking the theme of

 LOVE

It is very important that our children grow up knowing about the Love of God from an early age and also the command of God that we should all love one another because God loves us.

The song I have chosen is

Love One Another like Sister & Brother

Not exactly sure where I first learnt this one but I do know I have been teaching it to children for many years.

It has an easy, catchy tune and very simple actions

The song teaches children that they should love everyone like family and the reason we need to do this is because God wants us to live together in love and care about each other and we learn how to love others from the way He loves us.

VISUAL

Some years ago I started to make Powerpoint Presentations of the many Kids songs I would sing with Kids in church, Sunday School and in Schools and then more recently Fred & I have been making videos using the graphics I had previously used or upgrades of them.

These are the pictures from the Powerpoint Presentation for Love One Another Like Sister & Brother

These can be printed out on cards (A4 or Letter size) and using this type of visual gives me the opportunity to involve 2 children in holding up the cards or I can hold one in each hand.

Download them HERE

WORDS

Love One Another Like Sister and Brother

Love one another like sister and brother
Cause that's the way it should be
Love one another like sister and brother
Cause that's the way it should be

Cause God loves you
And I love you
And that's the way it should be
God loves you
And I love you
And that's the way it should be

ACTIONS

Love one another   -   hands held on heart
like sister and brother   -   point around
Cause that's the way it should be   -   clapping
Love one another   -   hands held on heart
like sister and brother   -   point around
Cause that's the way it should be   -   clapping

Cause God   -  point up
loves   -   hands held on heart
you   -   point outward
And I
point to self
love   -   hands held on heart
you   -   point outward
And that's the way it should be   -   clapping
God   -  point up
loves   -   hands held on heart
you   -   point outward
And I
-  point to self
love   -   hands held on heart
you   -   point outward
And that's the way it should be   -   clapping

This month I am taking the theme of

CHRISTMAS

The song I have chosen is

Christmas is a Time of Joy

Everyone knows the tune of Jesus Loves Me so that means this will be an easy song to learn.

Many many years ago we worked with CEF Good News Clubs and this was one of the Christmas songs they gave us visuals for and so we learned a simple jolly song for kids and have used it in different kids meetings in schools and churches and homes for several years.

We are planning to take this as one of the 2 Kids Christmas Songs that will be included in our second

 Songs for Christmas

Last year Fred & I went live on Facebook each night to get our friends and followers to sing
Christmas Songs with us and have a little laugh as things don't always go as planned
or we just had a happy memory of a song.
And plans are in progress for the same this year.

You can see all those live videos plus other post and videos at

VISUALS

This is the verse

and then we would flip it over for the chorus printed on the back

POWERPOINT

In later years with more opportunity to use projection on screens I designed powerpoints and pictures

You can Download a copy of these two pictures for printing out HERE

WORDS

Christmas is a time of Joy
Not because of gifts and toys
But because God gave His Son
To redeem us everyone

Yes God has given
Yes God has given
Yes God has given
His Son for you and me.

You can Download a copy of these words with chords for guitar and piano HERE

ACTIONS

We don't use actions in this one except to clap in the second part of the song.

RECORDING

You can find the recording of this song on the video below from

Notes:
I believe this was written by someone in Child Evangelism Fellowship many years ago but I don't think it is available as a printed song by them now.

I Hope you enjoy the song and this is a help to you.
