I am taking time each week to ask myself "Why we worship"
Today I want to focus on the fact
yes fact
that
God is everywhere.
He is OMNIPRESENT
This doesn't mean that part of God is in one place,
another part in another place
or another in a third place.
It means that all of Him is present everywhere at the same time, not part of Him in different places.
So there is no-one like our God because no-one can be everywhere at all times.
God has told us that He reigns in Heaven and Earth,
What a consoling and exciting piece of knowledge for us to have.
We are never alone from God, He always hears our prayers, He is always there to comfort, guide and support us.
However,
this also means that no-one can hide from
God
or that we can do anything behind His back
as everything is done in His presence so He sees and hears it all.
It is a true statement that God is omnipresent. It is true, we cannot hide from God, and it is also true that we cannot go anywhere where God cannot be with us. I wanted to share another category that is in the same folder of omnipresence, which is transcendence. God in His omnipresence can withhold His transcendence where it is rejected.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to be married to my beautiful wife. But there are times where she is here, but she is not here. She is here physically, but her mind is off in another direction. It is the difference between involvement and inclusion. To be included is not that big of a deal. And if I am removed someone else fills the gap. But if I am removed from the inclusion the plan and details of my involvement eradicate the final goal. God includes Himself in all things (omnipresence) but his inclusion (transcendence) is reserved for believers.
Thanks for the reminder that God is everywhere!

DeleteKnowing He is Omnipresent has brought me such comfort with my husband away. I love knowing that the same God who is with me here is the same one who is with my husband. It helps make him feel not so far away. Such a wonderful reason to worship Him. Thanks, friend. As you know... I love, love, love this series.
ReplyDeleteOh Beth you do encourage me so much. My husband used to travel a lot with his work but nothing like as long as the time your husband is away, it is hard so I'm praying for you.
